Award Categories

Rookie REALTOR® Award:

Honouring active Association members in their first licensing cycle (licensee for less than two years - Jan 2022 onward). This award acknowledges REALTORS® who have, in a short span, stood out within the industry, among peers, and as noteworthy businesspersons.

REALTOR® of the Year:

Recognizing individuals who epitomize the REALTOR® brand. This award celebrates professionals who adhere to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, embodying excellence in business practice while making positive contributions to the broader community. The REALTOR® of the Year is not only a successful businessperson but is widely acknowledged as a caring and giving professional.

Distinguished Service Award:

Recognizing current or past long-standing Association members demonstrating dedication beyond business success. This award honours individuals actively involved in organized real estate, collaborating with industry partners, and contributing significantly to the community throughout the years.

REALTOR® Choice Award:

Unlike other categories, this award is chosen by REALTORS® themselves. It goes to an individual involved in the community, displaying collaboration with fellow realtors, cordiality, and a high regard for the REALTOR® code.

Nominations Process

Embark on a vibrant journey of celebration with the Interior REALTORS® Awards 2024, an event that honours the unwavering dedication and excellence of REALTORS® across the diverse landscapes of Interior BC. We invite you to join us in the celebrations to recognise the best of our industry, who navigated the terrains of the Thompson, Okanagan, South Okanagan, and Kootenay Regions in 2023 to bring collective success and shared values that unite our community of Interior REALTORS®.

Nomination Selection

The top 5 nominees in each region will be chosen based on a combination of the number of nominations received and the quality of comments provided for each candidate. Quality comments should highlight specific achievements, exemplary professional conduct, and notable contributions to the community. Judges will consider the depth and insightfulness of these comments in addition to the quantity of nominations.

Awards Process & Guidelines

Eligibility Criteria:
- Nominations are open to all active members of the Association of Interior REALTORS® who exemplify professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.
Nomination Submission:
- Members can submit nominations for multiple categories, providing a compelling reason for each nomination, highlighting the nominee's outstanding contributions and achievements.
Judging Process:
- A panel of impartial judges, selected for their expertise in the real estate industry, will evaluate nominations based on predetermined criteria for each award category.
Finalist Selection:
- The top 5 nominees with the most nominations in each region move on to the final round. Judges will then list their top 3 winners in each region.
Winner Determination:
- Winners will be selected by calculating the weighted average in each region, taking into account the judges' rankings. All information provided in nominations will be treated with strict confidentiality, and the Association of Interior REALTORS® reserves the right to verify the accuracy of the information provided.
